URI Invitational
The URI Invitational is our annual flagship programme, bringing together writers, artists, historians, educators, students and public leaders for conversations, performances, exhibitions and learning experiences across Robben Island and its partner institutions.
URI Residencies
URI Residencies provide immersive short-term experiences on and around Robben Island through guided heritage tours, creative residencies, documentary filmmaking, research, writing, public dialogue and heritage education.
Participants engage directly with the Island’s history while contributing to new knowledge, cultural production and public memory, ensuring that Robben Island remains a living classroom for future generations.
